Theater camp-site a hit with area youth

MADISON - Cultural Arts Director Justin Bennett almost didn't have enough parts for the 110 performers who signed up for a late-model theater camp, luckily he needed 101 dalmatians for this year's completion.

For the last five years Bennett has watched the annual Madison Upright Center for the Arts summer camp grow, but this year numbers exceeded all expectations.

"That is not something we expected," he said of the 110 entrants. "This has been our largest set and we have steadily grown over the years."

Each summer the camp gives children the opening to learn about theater and theater production, while
