Best movies not out on DVD
(I won't be messing with Michael Bauer, though. That coxcomb's a badass.)
This list of Six Movies That Need to Come Out on DVD Suitable #%&@ing Now includes more older titles than the TV one, mostly because pretty much everything in the sphere is out on DVD. But there are quite a few older movies and newer cult favorites that for a multiplicity of reasons -- everything from music rights to a lack of studio interest -- aren't out on DVD yet. I demand that this is a very subjective list, and I'm admittedly the most lowbrow critic on the Record staff. In other words, Mick's list would probably have a lot more French films and movies from 1933.
Several of these films are present as imports, VHS tapes and bootlegs. I'm sticking to movies that haven't received a Field 1 release. (Which loosely translates to DVDs that you buy from major U.S. retailers, not ones from Europe or sold by a guy with a blanket laid out on Market Street.)
